WWE Monday Night Raw
From: The Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky
Guest Host: Florence Henderson

Match Results:
WWE Diva’s Champion Alicia Fox vs. Gail Kim
Fox got the pinfall after hitting her Scissors Kick.
Eve Torres was out at the announce table for this match, and Fox tried to get her upset. As Eve approached the ring the GM spoke e-mailed again. Due to Fox faking her ankle injury last week he was giving Eve another rematch this Sunday at Money in the Bank.
(Time for ANOTHER) Six-Person Tag Team Match
The Hart Dynsaty (Natayla Neidhart, David Hart Smith, and Tyson Kidd) vs. Tamina & The Usos (Jimmy & Jay Uso)
Jay Uso got the pin on David Hart Smith after a top rope splash.
Edge vs. Randy Orton
Edge got the pin after Chris Jericho came out and distracted Orton. Jericho then climbed into the ring and hit Edge with a Codebreaker. As Jericho turned Orton hit him with an RKO. As Orton turned there was Evan Bourne with a kick. Bourne then went to the top rope to hit Air Bourne. In an amazingly timed move Orton jumped up and hit the RKO on Bourne in mid spin!
8-Man Brady Bunch Challenge Tag Team Match
The Regal Bunch (William Regal, Zach Ryder, Primo, & Doink the Clown) vs. The Santino Bunch (Santino Marella, Vladimir Kozlov, The Great Khali, & Golddust)
Khali pinned Doink after a bit of comedy which included Doink with a water gun.
Florence Henderson was the special ring announcer for this match. She stayed at ringside during the match and tried on Regal’s robe at one point. After the match she got in the ring and as Santino closed his eyes and moved in for a kiss she ducked under him and walked over to Khali for a kiss. He then picker her up and got an even bigger kiss.
6-on-1 Handicap Match
John Cena vs. Nexus
Cena lasted for a while, but in the end there were just too many of them. Justin Gabriel got the pin after hitting his top rope flip into a splash. As they were about to gang attack him after the match Cena slipped out of the ring and grabbed a chair. The cleared the ring, regrouped and then surrounded the ring. Shaemus came out with a chair to help Cena!
Other Highlights:
John Cena was in the ring at the start of the show to talk about his match this Sunday at Money in the Bank vs. Shaemus for the WWE Championship, and to talk about his 6-on-1 Handicap match tonight on Raw. After a while The 6 members of Nexus came out to interrupt. Then the Anonymous GM interrupted to point out if any WWE Superstar got involved in the match that they would be suspended for 90 days, and that Nexus must tag in and out of the match tonight or suffer the same fate.
After Wade Barrett talked with Chris Jericho for a minute The Nexus met up with Yoshi Tatsu who came out to help John Cena last week. They beat him down a bit.
Ted DiBiase and Maryse were in the ring so he could introduce everyone to the Million Dollar Couple…Him and the Money in the Bank briefcase. Maryse was not happy at first, but the Ted explained how he’d be able to get them both even more stuff. John Morrison came out to interupt. After a bit of comedy from Morrison they fought briefly.
There was a great parody of The Brady Bunch opening sequence that used Santino Marella (along with Vladimir Kozlov, The Great Khali, and Golddust) & William Regal (along with Zach Ryder, Primo Colon, and Doink the Clown!).
In the back for more Nexus. This time they were attacking John Morrison.
The Miz came out to the ring to talk about how he took out R-Truth. The GM e-mailed and said Miz would face R-Truth’s replacement in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match…The World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry. This time the GM used another familiar quote as he did last week with, “…and that’s the bottom line because I said so.” and “Give me a hell yeah!”. This week’s quote was “Just when you think you have all the answers, I go ahead and change the questions.”
There was a weird interview with Edge about the voices in the back of his head. Apparently Randy Orton isn’t the only one with voices in his head that talk to him.
Nexus then jumped Evan Bourne while Shaemus stood by and watched. After Nexus walked away Shaemus came back over to gloat a bit over Bourne. Nexus came back and stood over Shaemus. He stood up and looked at them, they jumped to scare him and he ran off looking for John Cena’s locker room.

WWE Monday Night Raw
From: The Wacovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Guest Host: Rob Zombie

OK, so now the NXT Season 1 rookies want to be called “Nexus”. This is getting more annoying by the minute.
The show started off with WWE Champion Shaemus coming out to the ring to talk. He started off talking about the attack on Mr. McMahon last week, and how as the WWE Champion he felt he needed to make a statement. That statement, “The Champ is Here!” He was also happy to announce that John Cena was no longer the #1 contender for the title. As he went on and on out came Cena to interrupt. Cena wanted Shaemus’s help in fighting Nexus tonight.
Then suddenly Michael Cole got an email from the anonymous General Manager. He said that he would take no action against Nexus until next week after Wade Barrett has had a chance to give his side of the story. He said if any member of Nexus initialed contact with any WWE Superstar they would be fired, and if any WWE Superstar initiated contact with them they would be suspended. He then went on and on, finally saying at the Money in the Bank PPV that Cena would face Shaemus for the title in a Steel Cage Match.
6-Person Tag Team Match
The Hart Dynasty (David Hart Smith, Tyson Kidd, and Natalya Neidhart) vs. Jimmy Uso, Jay Uso, and Tamina
As the Harts made their way into the ring The Usos attacked. They began to leave, but then Tamina turned back, threw Natalya into the ring and hit the big splash from the top rope.
After an review of the Dance Off between Vladimir Kozlov and Santino Marella they were going to face each other in a match. If Santino can beat Kozlov then he would become his tag team partner.
Santino Marella vs. Vladimir Kozlov
Kozlov won after a brief match. He then tried helping Santino up a couple times, but he just collapsed back down onto the mat. As Kozlov left the ring William Regal congratulated him and then climbed into the ring to attack Santino. Kozlov turned back and chased Regal off, then helped Santino up and carried him back up the ramp.
Prior to that match there was an interview with R-Truth where the only question was “What action should be taken against Nexus for their actions?” Apparently this week’s filler will be interviews asking everyone that question. After the match they asked The Great Khali.
Finally it was time to bring out Rob Zombie! His job was to announce the 8 competitors in the Raw Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
They are; Randy Orton, The Miz, R-Truth, Chris Jericho, Evan Bourne, Ted DiBiase, John Morrison, and Edge.
After he introduced Edge, Edge appeared on the Titantron to say that the last time he talked to Rob Zombie was to tell him that he was dropping his song as his entrance music. Zombie disputed that claim and said he told Edge to stop using it. He made that clear and then left the ring. Edge continued on though to point out that he won the first ever Money in the Bank match and went on to win the title because of it, and then he did it a second time.
Time for another message from the GM. All 8 competitors in the Money in the Bank Ladder match would be in tonight’s main event. An 8-Man Tag Team match – John Morrison, R-Truth, Evan Bourne, and Randy Orton vs. The Miz, Chris Jericho, Ted DiBiase, and Edge.
Shaemus vs. Mark Henry
Shaemus won the match. Yes, it really wasn’t much of a match which is why that is all I said.
Now to the back for an interview with Nexus. They can’t touch WWE Superstars so Skip decided to attack one of the crew.
Back into the ring where Jerry The King Lawler in the ring to announce a new DVD release. The DVD, “Ricky Steamboat – The Life Story of The Dragon”. After a video preview of the DVD out came Ricky The Dragon Steamboat. Next the King brought out a few other legends to congratulate Steamboat. Out came Arn Anderson, Michael P.S. Hayes, Dean Malenko, and Mike Rotundo. Of course only one of them had ever faced Steamboat in a match. (Arn Anderson) Anderson made one statement about how people will always talk about the Top 5 of All-Time, and how names like Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and the Undertaker will always be mentioned, but Steamboat is up there too. It is truly sad that McMahon can force even Arn Anderson to not mention Ric Flair just because he is in TNA now.
As Steamboat began to talk out came Nexus. The six were ready to fight though. As they rolled in the ring one by one they were turned back at first. Then they pulled Arn Anderson out and beat him down, next they dragged Malenko out, then Rotundo. with just the other three left in the ring all of Nexus entered the ring and began to attack them. It was then down to just Steamboat in the middle of the ring surrounded by all of Nexus. Of course he didn’t back down, but he did wind up getting beat down. After a commercial they were helping the legends from the ringside area, including Steamboat strapped to a stretcher.
Diva’s Tag Team Match
Champion Alicia Fox & Maryse vs. Eve Torres and Gail Kim
Of course, now that Fox is the champion she is now an expert wrestler…or at least that is what they try to make her look like. Anyway, she got the pin on Gail Kim.
8-Man Tag Team Match
Randy Orton, John Morrison, Evan Bourne, and R-Truth vs. Edge, The Miz, Ted DiBiase, and Chris Jericho
In the end Orton hit the RKO on DiBiase and got the pin. Then a preview of Money in the Bank began. Edge attacked from behind, got a ladder, R-Truth attacked, then each of the competitors attacked one another one by one. At the end of it all The Viper was standing alone in the ring again. He climbed the ladder and retrieved the Money in the Bank briefcase. I am sure that is how the match will end at the PPV too.
Again, WAY TOO MUCH NXT/Nexus crap. The replayed the attack on McMahon twice, then also replayed the attack on Steamboat and the others twice, too. Add in the interviews in the back about them and I would estimate close to an 45 minutes being dedicated to them. Of course there was like another 30 minutes of commercials, so that left about 50 minutes for other stuff.

WWE Monday Night Raw
From: Charlotte, North carolina
Guest Host: Mark Feuerstein, star of Royal Pains.

The show started off with a recap of what the NXT rookies did last week. That makes a total of about an hour that they have dedicated to the whole thing since it happened last week.
Wade Barrett was in the ring to start the show. He explained how Bret The Hitman Hart told him to be in the ring at the start of the show to apologize for what they had done. He called out all the other NXT Rookies from season one to apologize with him. Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler along with some other crew members got up and walked off. They didn’t want to hear it. Barrett then went one by one asking them to apologize and they all refused to do it. As Barrett rambled on and on finally out came Bret Hart to put a stop to it. They went back and forth forever, rookies demanding contracts for everyone, first class travel accommodations, and personal locker rooms. Bret Hart refused their demands, and fired Wade Barrett. He then told them all to get out of the ring or he’d call the cops to physically remove them all.
Now 20 minutes into the show and just back from a commercial and Cole and Lawler had their own little commercial for the Fatal 4-Way PPV. It did have a purpose though, it led into a Fatal 4-Way match for the United States Championship.
Fatal 4-Way Match for The United States Championship
Champion R-Truth vs. John Morrison vs. Zack Ryder vs. The Miz
Woo woo wait, why is Zack Ryder in a title match? Anyway, this could be a decent match, but it probably won’t be. Morrison and Truth dumped Ryder and Miz out of the ring early and actually started wrestling one another with little hesitation. It was a normal 4-way match. Someone was always there to break up the three count. Then Ryder hit R-Truth with the Rough Ryder, but Morrison was there to knock Ryder out of the ring. Morrison then hit the Starship Pain on R-Truth, but as he went for the pin Miz came in and tossed him out of the ring and got the three count on R-Truth to win the title back.
A clip of The Big Show’s guest starring role on this week’s Royal Pains was shown, and then we saw this week’s guest host, Mark Feuerstein. He was talking to the Bella Twins, until he was interrupted by Ted DiBiase and Virgil. DiBiase wanted him to make him co-guest host. He was saying no, but seemed to be waivering a little until The Big Show quietly walked up behind DiBiase and Virgil. At that point he got very brave and talking back to DiBiase. DiBiase told Virgil to take care of this. At this point Show cleared his throat to let them know he was there. Show suggested that he and Feuerstein face DiBiase and Virgil in a tag team match. Dibiase agreed to the match. Feuerstein then explain how he was a figure skater in high school rather than a wrestler as he had told DiBiase. He demonstrated some of his moves and then jumped into Show’s arms. They then noticed the Bella Twins were still there watching, and a bit creeped out by it all.
Chris Jericho vs. Evan Bourne
Jericho just couldn’t put Bourne away. He then snapped and wound up getting disqualified. As he went back to continue beating on Bourne he was met with a kick to the head followed by Air Bourne from the top rope. Winner by DQ, Evan Bourne.
Next out was John Cena to talk a bit. As he was talking all of a sudden the NXT rookies were heading through the crowd toward the ring. This time however Cena had some back up. Lawler was the first into the ring, but then from the back came Evan Bourne, William Regal, R-Truth, and Santino Marella. The rooks still got in the ring and the brawl began. Out came the reinforcements, first Mark Henry, then Randy Orton, then Edge, and finally Shaemus with a lead pipe. They cleared the ring and chased the rookies back into the crowd, and out of the building.
Eve Torres & Gail Kim vs. Maryse & Alicia Fox
Tonight it is a tag team match preview of the Fatal 4-Way this Sunday. Maryse and Alicia had the match under control until Maryse was holding Eve in the corner for Alicia to kick her. Instead the kick landed on Maryse and sent her to the floor. this allowed Eve to get the upper hand, hit a neckbreaker and get the pin.
OK, back from a commercial and time for a WWE commercial. These commercials I could wind up liking though. It was one for the WWE Classics on Demand channel. It showed clips from the Philadelphia Spectrum where Intercontinental Champion Pedro Morales began a long feud with The Magnificent Don Muraco. Muraco won the title for the first time that night. It brought back a lot of good memories from long ago.
Tag Team Comedy
The Big Show & Mark Feuerstein vs. Ted DiBiase & Virgil
After Show dominated DiBiase for a bit Virgil was reluctantly tagged into the match. After Show hit him once though Virgil rolled out to the floor and said he quit. Before he could walk away from ringside Feuerstein grabbed him and tossed him back into the ring. He tore his shirt so the chops would make more noise. He then hit Virgil with a Chokeslam and tagged in Feuerstein. Feuerstein entered the ring, it is clear he must have been a Scotty Too Hotty fan. He went right into the worm move Scotty used to use. He then wound up and dropped a big elbow across Virgil’s chest and then got the three count. Virgil was laying in the ring lifeless. DiBiase was about to leave the ring, but instead turned around and stuffed a hundred dollar bill into Virgil’s mouth. He then started to leave again, but turned back yet again and took back the money before leaving.
William Regal vs. Santino Marella with Special Guest Referee Vladimir Kozlov
After a rather brief match Santino rolled Regal up and grabbed a handful of tights. Kozlov counted one, two, three regardless. Regal then got in his face arguing about it.
Out came Bret Hart and asked the three of them to come stand with him. He said he had asked the entire locker room to come stand with him because he wasn’t going to let history repeat itself on his watch. Out came all the Raw Superstars that weren’t set to be in the main event match. As the match was about to begin we could see Bret Hart go backstage. This leads me to believe that he will be attacked by the rookies back stage while the entire locker room is busy watching the match.
Edge & Shaemus vs. Randy Orton & John Cena
As I said, they are going to be playing this foursome against one another for a long time. Started a few weeks ago, and the scheduled main event at the July 19th Raw here in Tulsa is set to be this same match.
How does someone stay this pale really? McMahon must have put it in his contract that he is not allowed out of his coffin until after dusk or something. What might be a better question is…If you know how extremely pale you are why do you go into a business where you know you will be mostly naked most of the time?
Edge and Shaemus were controlling the match until Edge went for a Spear that Cena moved out of the way of. Edge went head first into the second turnbuckle. Cena finally got a tag to Orton. He came in and began to dominate Shaemus. As he was waiting for him to get up so he could hit the RKO Edge came up behind him and was met with an RKO instead. Then as Orton concentrated on Edge, Shaemus attacked from behind. This led to them dominating Orton for a bit. Orton finally got the tag to Cena who came in and threw a couple shoulder blocks.
Then the lights went out and we saw the NXT Rookies tearing apart the backstage area. Then they dragged Bret Hart out and put him in the back seat of a limo. The limo then started driving around and crashing into other cars that were set up strategically. They then ended it by dragging him out of the limo for everyone to see. They demanded an answer by Sunday about their contracts.
Well, as usual even what the WWE wants to be unpredictable is way too predictable. Just send the guys back to Florida, or blend them into the shows. Don’t try a whole rehash of The Outsiders coming in and taking over. It worked then because A) It hadn’t really been done before, B) It was people we cared about that were doing it, and finally C) It was cool to see two big stars revolt and leave the WWE for WCW.
Through all of the NXT crap it was still a pretty fun show to watch. Mainly because I really like Mark Feuerstein and they actually let him get involved in the show. I feel a letdown coming from this Sunday’s pay-per-view though. One thing that can backfire on Vince McMahon making sure his PPV is scheduled the week after TNA’s PPV is that TNA set the bar very high this month. It will be hard for the WWE to put on a show that doesn’t pale in comparison.

WWE Monday Night Raw
Special Live 3 Hour Viewer’s Choice
From: Miami, Florida
Guest Hosts: The cast of The A*Team
The show started off with Teddy Long and Bret The Hitman Hart coming down to the ring to talk about how the night was going to go. After they mentioned that all 4 participants in the upcoming Fatal 4-Way match for the WWE title will be in action tonight they started with mentioning Randy Orton. Orton came to the ring with his arm in a sling. Orton demanded a match with Edge, out came Edge to agree that he wanted a match with Orton so he could finish him off. Teddy Long suggested that the fans in the arena decide if there would be an Orton-Edge match tonight. Of course the crowd went crazy. Then Teddy let the crowd choose what they would go head to head in tonight.
A) A Debate
B) A Situp Competition
C) A One-Armed Match where Edge’s arm would be tied behind his back to level the playing field.
The crowd’s overwhelming choice was of course C.
Onto the first match that fans could help pick by voting on WWE.com. The Big Show vs. Chris Jericho. The options open to vote for were
A) Over the Rope Challenge
B) A Submission Match
C) A Bodyslam Challenge
Matt Stryker was apparently in charge of announcing the results. The fans vote was C – 48%, B – 41%, A – 11%… A Bodyslam Challenge it is.
The rules were simple, in order to win the match you had to bodyslam your opponent. At first Show just stood there in a wide open stance giving Jericho a chance to try and slam him. Instead he slapped him across the face. Show was not happy and began pounding on Jericho. Jericho finally mounted some offense and began working on Show’s right arm and shoulder. Show recovered quickly, and after tossing Jericho into the ropes he caught him coming off with a Cross Body Block. Then with a huge smile he slammed him down to the mat for the win. That wasn’t enough though. He then slapped on a Camel Clutch type move and got Jericho to tap out. Finally he grabbed Jericho and threw him over the top rope to officially win all three types of matches.
Next up was for the fans to decide who would face the Tag Team Champions, The Hart Foundation.
A)John & Jey Uso
B) The Dudebusters
C) The Great Khali & Hornswoggle
Of course the comedy factor had to find its way into the show. B – 10%, A – 36%, C – 54%. I do believe the WWE as with anything might be tweaking the numbers a bit. I think the clear favorite would have been the Usos, but they can’t let that match happen between two dynasties until a pay-per-view.
The Hart Dynasty (Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith) vs. The Great Khali & Hornswoggle
The Hart Dynasty made quick work of their odd opponents. Out came the Usos for the third straight week. This time however, the Harts weren’t left laying on their back in the ring, instead they got the upper hand finally.
Next out came Bradley Cooper to plug the new A*Team movie, that’s about all he did before going backstage again.
Before the commercial Jerry Lawler wandered off looking for something. He met up with Murdock and B.A. in the back. He needed them to find out who stole his crown. ::shakes head::: As they wandered off in character they bumped into the Bella Twins briefly.
Next out to the ring was Santino Marella. He is to face Vladimir Kozlov in one of the following…
A) A Match
B) An Arm Wrestling Match
c) A Dance Off
So, during this commercial did ANYONE really think that something other than the Dance Off was going to win by a landslide? I am betting on about 80% or more picks C. And the winner is… lol I shock myself some times. An overwhelming 84% picked the Dance Off, A – 9%, B – 7%.
Santino went first with a “dance routine” that made Carlton Banks look like Mikhail Barishnikov. Kozlov’s routine was incredibly bad, but I think better than Santino’s, sort of. The fans agreed. Then as Santino reached out to shake his hand Kozlov pulled him in close and they danced together for a minute. Santino was a bit shaken up, but decided he wanted to try that big jump move in Dirty Dancing. As he came running in Kozlov lifted him and shoved him down to the mat instead.
Out came the entire Divas division. Hard to believe they only have 12 of them. Fans had to pick between…
A) 6 on 6 Tag Team Match
B) Diva Battle Royal
C) Champion vs. Champion
The winner is… B – 73%, A – 11%, C – 16%
Diva’s Battle Royal
Order of Elimination:
Rosa Mendes, Tiffany, Kelly Kelly, Alicia Fox and Gail Kim simultaneously, The Bella Twins simultaneously, LayCool simultaneously, Eve Torres, Jillian Hall
The Winner – Maryse
Now then, will someone PLEASE, PLEASE give Layla’s outfit or at least her shorts to Kelly Kelly, Gail Kim, or maybe Maryse. Then get Layla some sort of one piece outfit or something with a good belt so that her ass stays covered.
I must say this has been the most action on Raw in a long long time. All of that happened in just the first hour of the show. Of course, most of it was ridiculousness, but still more action than any show in a long time.
To the back where they began playing up the whole “Undertaker is in a vegetative state” because someone attacked him angle that they started on last Friday night’s Smackdown. In reality the storyline is being use to give The Undertaker time to heal. His match against Rey Mysterio a couple weeks ago didn’t go very well. He walked out of it with a broken nose, broken orbital bone, and a concussion. Hopefully he will heal up quickly. Kane was hunting for who attacked Taker to put him in this state. He accused Shaemus who denied it, but of course this will influence the vote that they just announced.
Next fan vote… Shaemus will face
A) Kane
B) Mark Henry
C) Evan Bourne
Shaemus vs. Kane it is. Kane had 88%, C – 9%, B – 3%
After fighting for a bit Shaemus wound up on the floor. He was about to get back in the ring at a count of 7, but then dropped back down to the floor and walked away. Kane wins via countout.
Next vote… John Cena’s opponent will be
A) Jack Swagger
B) Rey Mysterio
C) C. M. Punk
First, to the back to hear Wade Barrett talk a bit. Then to Ted DiBiase and Virgil’s locker room. In came B.A. and Murdock looking for Lawler’s crown. As things were becoming heated DiBiase called out “Uncle Irwin”. Out came I.R.S./ Mike Rotunda wearing the King’s crown. He claimed that Lawler never paid back taxes on the jewels in the crown, so it belongs to him. It was funny to that point, but then they attacked B.A. and Murdock with gas, and had masks ready for themselves.
OK, time for a different vote apparently. It will be a tag team match between R-Truth and The Miz. Fans get to pick their partners.
R-Truth’s partner will be…
A) Christian
B) M.V.P.
C) John Morrison
Miz’s partner will be
A) Dolph Ziggler
B) William Regal
C) Zack Ryder
A) Christian – 27%, B) M.V.P. – 19%, C) John Morrison – 54%
A) Dolph Ziggler – 38%, B) William Regal – 17%, C) Zack Ryder – 45%
Woo woo woo, I knew it…was going to be this match up. lol
Miz wound up pinning Morrison for the win.
To the back with Kane accusing Bret Hart now. Of course they followed that up with a commercial for The Undertaker’s new DVD that includes 21 of his deadliest matches.
One-Armed Match
Edge vs. Randy Orton
Soon after the start of the match Edge untied his hand and began attacking. The ref disqualified him after attempting to tie his arm back up. Then Edge moved in for a Spear, but Orton hit him with a couple of kicks, the second of which sent him to the floor. Orton then came out after him, but Edge hit him with a chair. Edge then hit him a second time with the chair right in his injured shoulder.
They then used this opportunity to waste time so they could make it easier to fill the 3 hours. Orton stayed at ringside for an extended period of time. Meanwhile The King and Michael Cole stalled, and then reviewed the Diva’s Battle Royal match.
To the back again for the continuing A*Team saga. This time Murdock was being interviewed by Mean Gene Okerlund.
Back to the ring, Drew MacIntyre, and his opponent will be..
A) Yoshi Tatsu
B) Golddust
c) A mystery opponent we only saw a silhouette of, but everyone knew it was Matt Hardy.
C – 88%, B – 8%, A – 4%
MacIntyre stopped the match before it began and started screaming how Hardy is suspended. Teddy Long came out to point out that Hardy was suspended from Smackdown…NOT Raw.
Drew MacIntyre vs. Matt Hardy
Hardy attacked while MacIntyre was still complaining. He never looked back. Hardy controlled the entire match, beating him from announce table to ring post. He hit the Twist of Fate and got the pin. Then he continued beating on him.
To the back where DiBiase, Virgil, and I.R.S. had B.A. tied to a chair. After a commercial they were all in the ring. Apparently DiBiase was offered money by someone to who wanted B.A.’s head served to them on a platter. Out came Rowdy Roddy Piper who has a bunch of history with the previous B.A. Baracus, Mr. T. The Hot Rod was looking pretty good considering. He pointed out how he silenced Mr. T, but now he has to start it all over again with a movie. As the Hot Rod was preparing to beat the mohawk off of B.A. out came a golf cart carrying Murdock, Gene Okerlund, and The American Dream Dusty Rhodes. Thanks to the distraction B.A. was able to break free, including breaking the handcuffs. He then hit DiBiase with a Spinebuster and then tore off his shirt. I.R.S. then charged at Rhodes, but was met with an Bionic Elbow. Piper shoved Virgil into B.A. who was hit with a not so good Chokeslam, while Piper climbed out of the ring. He was apparently not in any shape for any action. In the end it turned into Rhodes giving a big plug to The A*Team movie.
Now to find out the results for Cena’s opponent.
A) Jack SWagger – 23%, B) Rey Mysterio – 32%, C) C. M. Punk – 45%
John Cena vs. C.M. Punk
Just as Cena was taking control of things out came Wade Barrett. Then suddenly ALL the NXT rookies appeared at ringside. They took out Gallows and Sarena, and finally Punk too. Then they all got into the ring and beat down Cena. Then they began tearing apart the entire ringside area, and everyone in the area. Lawler, Stryker, Cole, even the ring announcer and bell ringer. After they had most of the area torn apart they got back in the half disassembled ring and continued beating on Cena. At one point Punk got back in the ring to try and help but was quickly taken out. They were so organized and even had matching armbands! Lookout Raw! It looks like the WWE wants to try a new version of The Outsiders. Only thing is it is a bunch og guys no one cares about, many of which should really be tearing the ring down for a living instead. After a few of them hit their finishing moves on Cena they finally left the ring. As they wheeled Cena off on a backboard and stretcher he flashed a thumbs up for the crowd.

WWE Monday Night Raw
From: Austin, Texas
Guest Host: Ashton Kutcher

Ashton Kutcher as Michael Kelso on That '70's Show
The show started off with Edge beating on Evan Bourne as it came on the air. Bourne turned it around with some kicks for a bit, but then missed the Air Bourne. Edge took control again and finished it with a Spear.
Edge began talking about his opponents at Fatal 4-Way. When he got to Randy Orton, out came Orton. He let Edge keep talking for a bit and then hit him with an RKO. It was clear his shoulder was still bothering him.
To the back after the commercial…and oh look it is suddenly in that annoying HD look. Ashton Kutcher was upset because Zack Ryder was talking smack to him on Twitter. Eve came in, they talked and Kutcher decided t put a hit on Ryder. Then in came The Miz. Kutcher pointed out that his opponent tonight was Daniel Bryan who has a one night contract.
New United States Champion R-Truth vs. Chris Jericho (Non-Title)
They battled back and forth, but as Jericho went to turn R-Truth over for the Walls of Jericho, Truth kept rolling and managed to roll him into a quick pin.
Bret The Hitman Hart was in the back and told The Hart Dynasty that it was The Uso that attacked them last week, and that he had just signed them to Raw.
Then out to the ring for a filler match.
Mixed Tag Team Match
Diva’s Champion Eve Torres & Santino vs. Maryse & William Regal (with Vladimir Kozlov at ringside)
Santino tried to convince Kozlov that he should be his tag team partner instead of Regal before the match. During the match the Divas got rolled up on the ref. While he was distracted Kozlov came into the ring…and Chokeslammed William Regal. Santino rolled over and got the pin.
Bret Hart came out to the ring to announce next week’s Raw would be 3 hours long and would include all of the Raw and Smackdown superstars. He also asked for ideas for what the show would be. Out came Ted DiBiase to try and buy the GM spot for the show next week. Before Hart could respond, Kutcher was on the Titantron again. He suggested that next week be an all viewers choice show. Hart agreed, so go to WWE.com to vote for what matches will happen during the 3 hour Raw next week.
Then out came Vince McMahon for his first appearance since Hart beat him at Wrestlemania. After a bunch of talking McMahon said he just came out to wish him good luck.
To the back with Zack Ryder trying to figure out who Kutcher hired to attack him. He was questioning Randy Orton who told him if he wanted to take him out that they wouldn’t be having this conversation right now. Orton was standing in a doorway for this conversation. After Ryder walked away Edge came up from behind Orton and slammed the door on his shoulder and then walked off.
Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz
This match was AWESOME! Bryan nearly made Miz tap out, but when Miz turned it into a pin Bryan managed to then pin him instead. After the match The Miz was not happy and attacked Bryan. He then dragged him over to Michael Cole to force him to apologize. Bryan broke free and hit Miz. He then threw him over the announce table and into Cole.
After the commercial Cole was complaining about being assaulted twice in a week.
Then the Usos were in the ring to talk. They were greeted with a “You Suck” chant. They actually broke character and mentioned how their family runs deep in this business too…all the way back to The Wild Samoans. Then Tamina took the mic and also mentioned how Jimmy Superfly Snuka was her father, and how her family never gets respect in the WWE. Out came the Hart Dynasty and the fight was on. The Harts had the upper hand briefly. Then Tamina tripped up Tyson Kidd from the floor to give the Usos an opening. Then they hit an amazing move. The one launched David Hart Smith up in the air, the other caught him on his shoulders and without missing a beat hit a big Samoan Drop. The three then climbed to the top rope and hit the big splashes again.
Before the commerical they pointed out that Orton was out of action for the night and it would be a handicap match between him and Edge & Shaemus instead.
Out came Zack Ryder and Alicia to try and find out who Kutcher got to attack him. He demanded that Kutcher tell him who it is. Kutcher agreed to tell him, and then Jerry The King Lawler climbed into the ring with a chair. All he did was sitdown though. Kutcher said it wasn’t him…instead out came The Great Khali…nope wasn’t him either…then out came Golddust…nope wasn’t him. Zack begged for him to tell him, and Kutcher said just like in his movie he will never see it coming. Then Alicia grabbed the mic and said she was tired of the jokes. She then went to hand the mic back to Ryder, but it dropped to the mat. As he bent over to pick it up Alicia hit him with a Scissors Kick across the back of the head. Woo woo woo, you know it! (God that is an annoying gimmick line!)
In the back where Shaemus and Edge talk strategy about taking out John Cena in the handicap match.
Cena came out and talked a bit. He pointed out how it was easy for him to get a partner because everyone on in the back hates Edge and Shaemus. Cena’s partner was Evan Bourne.
Edge & Shaemus vs. John Cena & Evan Bourne
Bourne was dominated for most of the match. Once he managed to get the tag to Cena though the entire match got turned around. Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment then tagged in Bourne who hit the Air Bourne and got the pin.
Wow, just 4 matches again. Really, maybe they should just take next week’s idea and do it all the time. Not the viewer’s choice part…the part where they have Raw and Smackdown in one 3 hour show. They obviously can’t fill the 6 hours a week they have airtime for. I can’t wait to actually see the Usos in an actual match.
Well maybe they will put on a better show next week on Raw with the cast of The A-Team hosting the show.

WWE Monday Night Raw
From: Toledo, Ohio
Guest Host: Jon Lovitz

The show started off with Batista being helped to the ring by a pair of referees. His ribs were taped, his arm was in a sling, and he was limping badly. He sat in a wheelchair once in the ring. He started talking about how he was hurt and the reason he quit was because his life was being threatened. He went on to say how John Cena needs to give him a rematch once he is healed. He then got interrupted by the ring announcer saying he was told to introduce the new Raw General Manager, out came Bret Hart. Hart explained how if Cena was still champ at the Fatal 4-Way he will have to face three opponents. Those opponents will be decided in a series of qualifying matches. If Batista wanted a shot at the title all he had to do was win his qualifying match tonight. Batista refused because he was injured, Hart pointed out that his opponent was also injured… Randy Orton. Batista refused still, and Hart declared Orton the winner by forfeit. So despite being hurt Randy Orton is scheduled to be in the match at Fatal 4-Way. Batista threw a tantrum and finally screamed that he was quitting.
I was happy to hear that Orton might not be injured enough to miss a lot of time. Especially since I just learned that the live Raw event coming here to Tulsa in July has a scheduled main event of Cena and Orton vs. Edge and Shaemus.
Next up was a qualifying match for that same title match at Fatal 4-Way.
Shaemus vs. Mark Henry
Yes, Shaemus won. Kind of obvious since Henry has been nowhere near the title picture lately.
So far in the match are Shaemus, Randy Orton, and Cena if he is champion.
At this point Edge was telling Bret Hart why he deserved to be put in the match. Out came Chris Jericho to do the same thing. Hart made a Triple Threat match for later in the night, Edge vs. Jericho vs. John Cena. If either of them win they are in the match, if Cena wins they are out.
Diva’s Tag Team Match
Eve & Gail Kim vs. Maryse & Alicia Fox
Maryse hit the French Kiss on Eve and pinned her for the win. I would like to revoke part of my statement about how good Eve has been getting. She “hit” two dropkicks during this match that were a good 4-6 inches away from even touching Maryse. lol She did hit another standing Moonsault, although it was the beginning of the end for her in the match.
Due to Bret Hart being named Raw General Manager he had to forfeit the United States Championship that he won last week. So there was a match on the way to decide the new U.S. Champ.
United States Championship Match for vacant title
The Miz vs. R-Truth
It was a rather competitive match that went back and forth. In the end R-Truth hit the Lie Detector and pinned The Miz to become the new U.S. Champion.
After an interview with John Cena it was time for Jon Lovitz’s Superstar Search. A competition to find the superstars other talents.
The first act was Runjin Singh and The Great Khali singing Taco’s Puttin’ On The Ritz. It was a performance similar that in Young Frankenstein, just not nearly as good. Lovitz let them sing for a bit before buzzing them off the stage. Next out was Jillian Hall, he buzzed her before she even got out on her mark to start singing. Lovitz said this was a waste of time, so instead he would find the real talent in the audience. Joe came in from the audience, his talent was to remove his eye from his face. Turns out he was for real, but the eye wasn’t. It was his fake eye, but he did pull it out.
At this point Ted DiBiase and Virgil came down to the ring. DiBiase wanted to buy Joe’s eye. Joe turned him down and DiBiase threatened he would beat him and then take his eye if he didn’t sell it to him. Out came Santino to protect Joe using the “Fast Freak Fiber Twitch Jugular Pinch” which Lovitz had taught him if he didn’t leave “Cyclops Boy” alone. He used it on Virgil who fell to the mat immediately. Then he tried it on DiBiase and it didn’t work. DiBiase hit him with the Dream Street. Lovitz then declared DiBiase the winner of the talent search.
So they gave Lovitz a little time to be funny, but they obviously controlled the comedy and it wasn’t all that funny really. Shame they need so much filler every week.
Time for a bit more filler.
Unified Tag Team Champions The Hart Dynasty vs. Vladimir Kozlov & William Regal
The match was over pretty quickly. Kidd pinned Regal.
After the match though the Hart Dynasty was attacked by three people. Jimmy & Jules Uso and Tamina. Whose real names are Jonathan & Joshua Fatu and Sarona Reiher. To explain a bit better, they are Rikishi’s sons, and Jimmy Superfly Snuka’s daughter! Great to see the family tradition lives on and on. Nice way to introduce them into the WWE too, Dynasty against Dynasty.
Then we were forced to visit with the remaining four NXT rookies.
Triple Threat Qualifying Match for Fatal 4-Way
John Cena vs. Edge vs. Chris Jericho
It came down to a frenzy of moves from all three competitors. Edge got the upper hand in it all. He shoved Cena towards Jericho who hit the Code Breaker on him. Then Edge hit the Spear on Jericho and got the pin.
To close the show Shaemus came out to stare down both Edge and Cena, then out came Randy Orton to stare them all down. I sort of assumed this would be the four in the match after seeing the main event at the Tulsa Raw that will be here in July. Sadly that means the same storyline will be played out from now until the second half of July. Things could get very boring by then. I just hope Orton really is in shape to be in the matches.
It was really not a good follow up show to Over the Limit. Although it did have its moments. Moments like The Miz NOT winning another title, and the Raw debut of Rikishi and Snuka blood.

WWE Monday Night Raw
From: Toronto, Canada
Commercial free everywhere but in Canada.

The show started off with Bret The Hitman Hart coming out to talk. He was announcing that he wouldn’t be wrestling tonight for the United States Championship. Out came Chris Jericho to interrupt. I like Jericho and The Hitman, so it was somewhat entertaining at times. Especially with knowing their backgrounds and Jericho’s roots in the Hart Dungeon. It turns out Hart will face Mix for the belt and it will be no DQ, no rules.
Randy Orton and Edge were given a Pick Your Poison match tonight. They got to pick the other’s opponent. Keeping in the Canadian theme of the night thus far, Randy Orton chose Christian as Edge’s opponent. So we actually do get to see Edge vs. Christian.
Christian vs. Edge
After a long and hard fought back and forth battle Edge hit the Spear and got the pinfall.
After the match Randy Orton came on the Titantron and said he had no idea why Christian was out in the ring because that isn’t who he chose to face Edge tonight. Then The Undertaker’s music began to play.
The Undertaker vs. Edge
The match started and Edge stepped out of the ring and told the referee to start counting. He was counted out of the ring and The Undertaker was declared the winner. Luckily Christian was still at ringside. He came up behind Edge and threw him back into the ring where Taker grabbed him and Chokeslammed him down.
Next Buzz Aldrin makes an appearance. He, his wife, and Vicki had a bit of a discussion that ended with Buzz saying her replacement as GM of Raw would be here next week. He then had the Bella Twins escort Vicki to the parking area. Buzz is not all that good of an actor when things are live. Granted he was decent on 30 Rock a couple weeks ago, but I suspect that is because he was able to do multiple takes. He came very close to forgetting a line or two.
Next Mark Henry with a heavily taped shoulder was on his way to the ring. Before he could get there Batista jumped him from behind and hit him with a 2X4 in that same shoulder. He then continued to pound on Henry and his shoulder.
Ted DiBiase came out to the ring next, and it seems he may have found his very own Virgil…It actually WAS THE Virgil!
Yoshi Tatsu vs. Ted DiBiase
DiBiase won by pinfall.
United States Championship Match
Champion The Miz vs. Bret The Hitman Hart
First Miz brought out William regal and Vladimir Kozlov because he didn’t trust Hart and felt the Hart Dynasty would come out and interfere. They did come out and the fight began. Then Jericho got in the ring and the were set to double team Hart. However, the Hart Dynasty wound up helping Bret anyway. He locked on the Sharpshooter and Miz tapped out in no time at all.
Winner and New United States Champion, Bret The Hitman Hart.
LayCool & Maryse vs. The Bella Twins & Eve
Maryse hit the French Kiss on one of the Bella Twins and got the pinfall.
The opponent Edge picked to face Randy Orton was Jack Swagger
Jack Swagger vs. Randy Orton
Edge came out and interfered in the match, Orton wins via DQ.
Next up the filler match you had to expect after last week. Woo woo woo You Know It…has to be annoying.
Zack Ryder & Alicia Fox vs. Evan Bourne & Gail Kim
Gail Kim pinned Alicia Fox for the win. The match was followed by a celebration which included Buzz Aldrin doing the worst Moonwalk of all time.
Shaemus vs. WWE Champion John Cena
Cena had Shaemus up for the Attitude Adjustment but he grabbed the top rope. Cena eventually sent him flying over the top rope. As soon as he let him go and turned around Batista was there and hit him with a Spinebuster, followed by a second Spinebuster. He then locked on the same submission move he injured Mark Henry’s shoulder with. The show went off the air with Cena still refusing to say I quit.
Winner of the match via DQ, John Cena.
The problem with the show being commercial free is…I can’t fast forward through all the commercials and it actually takes me 2 hours and 6 minutes to watch. Technically the show had 8 matches, but you can’t count Undertaker-Edge really. It was good to see Virgil is still alive, although he wasn’t really involved.
Next week’s show could be funny if they allow the guest host to be funny. Jon Lovitz is the special guest host next week. Let’s hope Randy Orton doesn’t RKO him.

WWE Monday Night Raw – May 10, 2010
From: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Guest Host: Flavor Flav.

The show started off with Randy Orton coming out to talk. He was interrupted by Meatloaf who was eventually RKO’d. By the way, Meatloaf has a new album coming out on Tuesday the 11th. Edge came out and began talking about how guest hosts will no longer have any power, and that Raw was in need of a permanent General Manager. He said WWE officials agreed with him. Then he introduced Raw’s new General Manager. Short of him saying Mike Adamle, he said the worst name he could have… Vicki Guerrero. She then made a Handicap Match for later in the night, Orton vs. Edge and a partner of his choosing.
Good God! Part of the reason I stopped watching for a while was because of the whole Edge and Vicki storyline. Do I need to just give up on the WWE? Sure the guest host thing was ridiculous. Especially when they barely got involved in the show like last week with Wayne Brady. So, why do away with one bad idea and replace it with an even worse idea that can only hurt ratings. Maybe this will be a plus for TNA at least.
Chris Jericho vs. David Hart Smith
If Jericho wins, he and The Miz get a Tag Team Title shot at Over the Limit.
Jericho wins. With a distraction from the referee, Jericho poked Smith in the eye and then hit the Codebreaker, followed by the pinfall.
Next, out came R. Truth and special guest host Flavor Flav singing a duet of “What’s Up?” After a plug for his new show, Flavor Flav got the crowd hyped up a bit for R. Truth’s match against William Regal.
R. Truth vs. William Regal
The match was only going for about a minute before the Colons (Carlito and Primo) came into the ring and attacked R. Truth. While everyone was wondering why they attacked him, they walked back up the ramp and were met by Ted DiBiase. DiBiase handed them each an envelope. One can only assume the envelope was filled with whatever their “price” was.
Apparently Alicia Fox and Gail Kim accompanying Zack Ryder to ringside is going to be a regular thing.
Zack Ryder vs. Evan Bourne
Evan Bourne wins. Alicia Fox tried to interfere in the match, but Gail Kim stopped her. Bourne hit the Shooting Star Press and got the pinfall. Woo, woo, woo. You know it.
::shakes head:: That is still the worst gimmick line in history.
John Cena came out to announce the stipulation for his title match against Batista at Over the Limit. He has chosen to make it an I Quit match. Then he called out the “human jar of mayonnaise”…aka Shaemus. As Shaemus made his way into the ring Batista came from the other side of the ring and they both attacked Cena. As the Animal was setting up for the Batista Bomb, Mark Henry came out to save the day. Shaemus saw him coming and ran from the ring leaving Batista to fend for himself against The World’s Strongest Man.
Tyson Kidd vs. The Miz
If Kidd wins the match Miz must defend his United States Championship against one of the Hart Dynasty members next week.
Kidd wins. Tyson Kidd caught Miz rather unexpected in a shoulder rollup for the pinfall.
Miz grabbed a mic and pointed out that the stipulation said that he got to choose which member of the Hart Dynasty he would defend his title against. Right away I thought he was going to choose Natalya. He didn’t though, instead he chose to face Bret The Hitman Hart for his U.S. Title next week in Toronto. Good to see The Hitman will have another title reign.
Next up an Twelve-Man Tag Team match
John Morrison, Yoshi Tatsu, Golddust, and Santino Marella
vs.
8 of the NXT Rookies.
Can you say waste of time filler??? In the end Daniel Bryan rolled up Santino Marella for the pinfall.
More filler after a commercial…A segment with Flavor Flav, The Bella Twins, Vladimir Kozlov, Santino Marella, and unfortunately a “rap song” from William Regal.
Batista vs. Mark Henry
Last time I remember seeing this one on one match, Mark Henry hurt his knee and was out for an extended period of time. Batista didn’t care about a match. He attacked as Henry was entering the ring. He then took the chair he was sitting in and began hitting Henry repeatedly with it. He then ended it by putting Henry in a submission hold until he passed out.
Handicap Match
Randy Orton vs. Edge & Ted DiBiase
Edge chose DiBiase as his partner, a nice little twist.
Orton wins. After a distraction from R. Truth, Orton hit the RKO on DiBiase and got the pinfall. With DiBiase down and out, and Edge still out on the floor from an earlier shot, Orton turned his attention to Vicki. Orton got Vicki so upset that she screamed multiple times that she resigns! Woohoo, maybe it is over again! As she screamed Edge got up and was met with an RKO on the floor. Vicki ran off, and Orton stood in the ring victorious in many ways.
Thanks to running the same plug for next week’s show three times I can tell you that Buzz Aldrin is next week’s guest host…and the show is live and commercial free. So if you loved this week’s filler you will love next weeks show that must fill an actual two hours and five minutes of airtime and still run late. Also you will get to see more in show commercials, like they did with KFC last time they went commercial free.
This week, 6 matches, but there were 3 or 4 that really shouldn’t count towards the total.

WWE Monday Night Raw – May 3, 2010

From: Jacksonville, Florida
Guest Host: Wayne Brady
Beat the Clock Challenge – John Cena and Batista – The winner gets to choose the stipulation for their title match at the Over the Limit PPV.
Batista vs. Daniel Bryan
Batista was supposed to face The Miz, but he brought a doctor’s note to the ring because of a condition with his face cause by a punch from the Big Show last week.
Daniel Bryan put up a decent fight from time to time, and just wouldn’t give up. He had told Miz prior to the match that he would make Batista tap out.
Batista wins in 5 minutes and 6 seconds.
John Morrison vs. Ted DiBiase
DiBiase could have made it back into the ring but chose to get counted out and walk away. Morrison asked him to come back to the ring, forget about the count out, and start over. DiBiase began walking to the back. then Morrison said if he came to the ring and restarted the match and Morrison lost, then he would become DiBiase’s “Virgil”.
John Morrison wins round two also. Got the pinfall on DiBiase.
DiBiase attacked Morrison from behind after the match and R. Truth came out to save him.
Next up was supposed to be John Cena vs. Chris Jericho as part of the Beat the Clock Challenge, but Jericho came out in a suit. He said he wasn’t going to pull himself out like the Miz did. Instead he said he was pulling himself out because he was tired of beating Cena again and again. So out came yet another NXT rookie.
John Cena vs. Wade Barrett
Cena made Barrett tap out with 28 seconds left on the clock. Cena will now be able to pick the stipulation for the title match with Batista at Over the Limit.
Cena immediately grabbed a mic to announce what the stipulation would be. However, before he had a chance to Sheamus came into the ring and blindsided Cena.
Nikki Bella vs. Maryse
Maryse wins – Maryse gets the pinfall after hitting Nikki with the French Kiss (DDT)
Zack Ryder wanted to have a match with Primo Colon, but Wayne Brady finally got involved with the show…84 minutes into the 120 minute show. He sent out Ryder’s actual opponent.
Zack Ryder vs. Mark Henry
By the way, while I wait to see who wins this match…I cannot believe they are still going with the “Woo Woo Woo” crap! It has to be the stupidest gimmick line EVER.
Mark Henry wins – Henry hit the World’s Strongest Slam and got the pin…Woo woo woo.
Unified Tag Team Champions The Hart Dynasty vs. Vladimir Kozlov & William Regal
The Hart Dynasty wins – William Regal tapped out to the Sharpshooter applied by D.H. Smith.
Chris Jericho and The Miz were at ringside for commentary. Jericho has a plan, he and Miz team up and win the titles and then they can return to Smackdown to seek revenge on The Big Show.
The show wrapped up with the return of The Cutting Edge with special guest Randy Orton. Before Edge could introduce Orton out came guest host Wayne Brady. After Brady got to play to the crowd a bit out came Randy Orton. As Brady approached him for a handshake Orton hit him with an RKO. He then turned his sights on Edge. Edge began to squirm. He tried to convince Orton that they should get Rated RKO back together and then take control of Raw. Orton went for the RKO, Edge blocked it and setup for the Spear. As Edge charged in Orton knew he was coming and hit the RKO instead.
All in all it was a pretty decent show. Six matches total, which is one more than TNA had this week. Of course the matches weren’t really that stellar. Morrison – DiBiase was probably the best one of the night.
I really don’t see the purpose of a guest host some weeks. Wayne Brady talked with Eve for a minute, talked on the Tritantron to setup the Mark Henry match, did a scene with Kozlov, Regal, Santino Marella, and Golddust, and then was RKO’ed by Orton. I like Brady a lot, but didn’t see the point of him being there other then the little advertisng for Let’s Make a Deal.

Monday, May 3rd, 2010
Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t posted here in almost a year! I also got behind in watching the many hours of wrestling I watch every week. That didn’t happen until around October though. What brought me back to wrestling? It wasn’t hearing that Bret Hart was returning to the WWE, or that The Undertaker got burned during his ring entrance at a pay-per view. It was hearing that Hulk Hogan was coming to TNA.

When I heard that I rushed to get caught up with watching every TNA weekly show, and pay-per view since October. It was a week filled with A LOT of wrestling. I never did watch each week of the WWE. Instead I watched a pay-per view or three, then skipped ahead to Wrestlemania XXVI this past week. Of course by this point I was addicted again. So, I had to watch the Raw after Mania so I could see Shawn Michaels’s “farewell”. Then I also watched the rest of the Raws up to this past week. I also watched this week’s NXT and Smackdown shows. I was then glad I didn’t spend the many hours it would have taken to watch the rest of the Smackdown’s I had missed.
So, now for the actual purpose of this post. I have decided that once a year I will post about the current state of professional wrestling. It will always come about a month after Wrestlemania since it is the “Super Bowl of Pro Wrestling”.
The current state of wrestling is looking better and better I think. Now that there is actually a chance for there to be some competition. Granted the TV ratings aren’t looking too promising for TNA head to head against Raw.

The Whole F'n Show!
I love how TNA can actually get WWE talent to head south, and that they are giving some a chance to get back in the ring. Especially one of my all-time favorites… Rob Van Damme. RVD and Jeff Hardy as a tag team would be amazing if they could have stayed together. RVD as TNA Champion so soon after his return to the ring is nice though.
The WWE seems to be heading in the wrong direction. I mean I realize they are such a huge juggernaut that things can’t and won’t come crashing down, but if it weren’t for that it just might have. In the few Raws, pay-per-views, and the one Smackdown and NXT shows I did watch to get caught up, I must say it was mostly disappointing. Smackdown was totally unentertaining. The one point I thought the show was looking up was during Edge’s farewell before he heads to Raw. When Christian came out I was hoping they would become a tag team again, just like many others probably were. Instead it was for Edge to become a heel again, and for Christian to sort of disown him.
One thing that upsets me very much is McMahon’s insistence that if your name isn’t Ric Flair then you are NOT allowed to talk about any world title that doesn’t belong to the WWE…and even some that do belong to the WWE. On that Smackdown when Christian came out he was back to “never being a World Champion ever”. Sorry Vince, not only was he TNA World Champion, but you know that company/brand you pretty much ruined…ECW? Like I said, I missed a few months, so what actually happened to ECW? You killed it for this NXT rookie crap? Whatever happened to a guy proving his worth in Ohio or down in Florida? I haven’t seen the ratings for the show, but I am willing to bet they suck, and are probably worse than ECW ratings were. I am sort of happy to see Vince’s bastardized version of ECW is gone though. There was NOTHING extreme about ECW. I love how they would make a huge deal of the occasional match that was contested under “extreme rules”. Now if they would just kill off the Extreme Rules pay-per-view too.
The Raw shows I saw weren’t much better either, although they did have a few interesting matches. I really don’t see how they are beating TNA in ratings week in and week out. I just don’t see how Shaemus can get into the title picture. He should be wrestling Santino Marella and Carlito…not Triple H, Randy Orton, and John Cena. By the way, I got excited to see Cena and Orton as a tag team. Only to be let down when Orton left him alone in the match. You can turn Batista back into a heel, but can’t make Orton a fan favorite? Sheesh.
Now as for TNA… I know there are rumors of “politics” going on backstage and people being upset with how Hogan and Bischoff are running things. So much so that people are leaving the company over it. But really, Awesome Kong hadn’t been on TV for a while before they arrived, and Christopher Daniels has been on the outs for a while too. Now Tara is most likely leaving because they wouldn’t give her what she considered a small raise. This doesn’t surprise me a bunch. I mean if Hogan and Bischoff are in charge the Knockouts division is going to me more like the WWE Divas. More like The Beautiful People than the Litas and Gail Kims of women’s wrestling. To explain that comment a bit…yes they are all hot, but Lita and Gail can WRESTLE too, as can Tara.
The fact that TNA can sign talent like RVD, Jeff Hardy, and Mr. Anderson, not to mention keeping people like Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, and a lot of the talent that was in place before the change is a sign of good things to come for TNA. Sure they will lose a few that won’t get along with Bischoff, or even Hogan, but the benefits outweigh the losses they will have. That is of course as long as they realize that doing things like bringing the Nasty Boys along for the ride just won’t work. No one wants to see Saggy Nobs hanging all out in the ring! They need to limit Ric Flair’s in ring time too. Sure he is a legend, and should be allowed to do just about anything he wants, but no one wants to see him in the ring against Abyss. Use his mind (which at times he has obviously lost), not his beaten and battered body.
I even have the perfect way to let Flair bow out of the ring in a spectacular way. Have a Legends Battle Royale to set the seeding for a Legends Tournament. The entrants will be all the Legends they have on the roster, and however many more they can pull out of retirement for a month or so. People like Flair, Hogan, Nash, Hall, Sting, and Angle. They could surely get a few others who are just sitting around enjoying retirement. Then add in two or three “Future Legends” to the mix. Either pick them, or let them have their own mini-tournament to decide who gets in. Then if Flair wins he can walk away from the ring (yet again) and just stick around as a manager and front office guy helping drive the company in the right direction. (See my note later for one more additional Legend to join this match.)
One thing I am unhappy about since the beginning of the Hogan/Bischoff era is that entrance ramp. First you take away the Six-Sided Ring that had become TNA’s trademark. Then you add that elevated entrance ramp. There are a number of reasons the ramp is a bad idea. First, someone is going to get injured badly when they go out of the ring on that side unexpectedly and hit the ramp the wrong way. Second, it takes away the only real space outside the ring, now that it is square again. This pretty much kills like 85-90% of the excitement of the X Division…yeah that other signature thing TNA had going for it that no one else could touch. Some of the most exciting matches ever in TNA were those X Division World Tournament battles. Lots of guys you had never heard of putting it all out there risking injury and even their lives to do the crazy things they would do, at the speeds they did them. Bring more of that back and maybe the ratings would go back up.
Obviously TNA can’t just pull out of Monday nights. Vince would have a field day with it if they did. They need to find a way to do more live shows. they ratings are better for the live shows. They also need to find some way to move the show around. Sure having a dedicated crowd sitting in The Impact Zone is great, but if they moved around to some different locales it would help in a few ways. You would get more money in ticket sales, which could help offset the traveling and production expenses, and it would probably in turn increase the TV ratings. Even if it is the 10,000 people at the live show TiVoing it to see if they got on TV.
Ratings will improve greatly simply by making one rumor come to pass. IT has been rumored that the legendary Jim Ross might be joining TNA. That would be incredible! His wrestling mind, his commentating in a seat between Mike Tenay and Taz, and the pull he would give the company could be what they need to put them over the top. By pull I mean, if Jim Ross is in TNA there will be more talent interested in coming into TNA. Ross is well respected just about everywhere, especially the locker rooms. Many would gladly join the company knowing Good Ole J.R. could help them along.
Anyway, now one last comment and my ratings to finish up this post.

HBK to TNA?
During last week’s TNA Impact! Hall and Nash were asked what they would do now that Six Pac/Shawn Waltman was hurt. Nash made a comment about how maybe next week they would have someone else with them. So, here is my thinking on the matter. “The Band” as they have been being called needs to be “tuned up” a bit. Adding some Sweet Chin Music to their set list would be a great improvement. Shawn Michaels had his WWE Farewell speech a little over a month ago. The WWE Draft just happened, which usually coincides with talent contracts running out and being renewed. So, is The Heartbreak Kid free to head south and join The Kliq/The Band, whatever you want to call it? He would also be joining Sting, with whom he had done a TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) show with, and friend Ric Flair whom he retired a little over two years ago at Wrestlemania XXIV. They could just pull Sting into the group and start calling themselves The Wolfpack again. HBK would fit nicely into my Legends Tournament that I mentioned earlier too.
My Ratings:
Show/Company – Grade
WWE Friday Night Smackdown – D
WWE Superstars – F
I have watched this show all of about 5 times since it debuted. It just isn’t interesting.
WWE NXT – F
Watched this once and most of it was on fast forward. lol
WWE Raw – B
Needs more improvement
WWE Pay-Per-Views – B
They still manage to mix in 1-3 matches in between the waste of time matches that make the shows entertaining.
WWE Overall – C-
If TNA can find the right formula before the WWE can find a way to make things more nteresting the McMahon Empire could take a bit of a hit.
TNA Impact – B
It is still an exciting show each week, unlike the WWE shows usually. However, they need more X Division mixed in, and probably less Hogan/Bischoff storylines. Just like the McMahon storylines and every week appearances it can get old real quick.
TNA Pay-Per-Views – B+
They can really put on a great 3 hour pay-per-view. There are times when the filler matches can get annoying, but overall they are slightly better than the WWE PPVs.
TNA Overall – B
They are headed in the right direction despite what TV ratings show. They still just need to convince more people to try the brand. Once they do they could quickly become fans. As I have said numerous times – MORE X Division again. Let them fly! You have some of the greatest wrestling minds in the company, use them.

Raw from London
The show started off with Chris Jericho coming down to the ring. He was saying how he was going to Smackdown and never coming back to Raw. The fans seemed pleased, Jericho was not. Then out came Ricky The Dragon Steamboat. He wanted to thank Jericho. That’s right, thank him for giving him that opportunity to compete once again. Jericho was less than gracious. Saying how he is finished now and will never wrestle again. He then went on to say he wanted a one on one match against Steamboat at Backlash so he can put him out of his misery. At that point John Cena interupted. Jericho stopped him and said he didn’t have to listen to him anymore, and that his final act on Raw was to walk out on Cena. As he left the ring Steamboat accepted the challenge. Then Cena said he had a message from Vickie Guerrero who was not on Raw tonight. She said Edge won’t be competing on Raw tonight, but Cena HAD to compete. He then told Jericho his last act on Raw was not walking out on him, but instead in a match against him tonight.
After the break Chavo Guerrero was in the ring saying how he was happy to officially be on Raw now that he was drafted in the supplemental draft. He said how he could not only push around vickie’s wheelchair, but anyone in the Raw locker room. “So bring it on!” At this point Batista’s music began to play. Batista finished him off with a Batista Bomb in about 10 seconds or so. Batista left the ring. Chavo grabbed a mic to apologize to vickie, he said he wasn’t ready. So Batista headed back to the ring, where Chavo scream “no, no, I was ready” as Batista picked him up for another Bomb, and then left the ring.
Kane vs. C.M. Punk
This was their final match on Raw since they were both drafted to Smackdown. In the end Punk surprised Kane as he was going for a DDT, and rolled him up for the three count.
Next out was Santino Marella. He pointed out how his loss to Khali meant that his twin sister Santina would have to go to Smackdown and kiss Khali on his kiss cam. He said he wanted his sister to come out tonight so he could apologize. Her music played but then we saw her on the Titantron. She claimed to be in Italy, and explained how she could not go to Smackdown and kiss Khali on Friday because she had developed a blister on her lip. she turned and showed us all. Then as they were interacting with one another the tape of Santina sped up suddenly, making her sound like a chipmunk, and proving it was just a tape of Santino. the tape fixed itself and then Santino began reading a poem for his sister that he had written. Luckily Beth Phoenix came out to interupt. She pointed out that she talked to Vickie and that she was going to set aside some time so Santina could be on the kiss cam on Sunday at Backlash.
Out came Melina for her title defense against Beth Pheonix before leaving for Smackdown. Melina wound up winning after the intern got involved and distracted Pheonix.
John Cena vs. Chris Jericho
This was a decent match up until the point that Edge came out and interfered. Cena won via DQ. Edge speared Cena, hit him with a one man Concerto, and the grabbed a mic to count him out and announce himself as the winner of the Last Man standing match at Backlash Sunday.
Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio vs. The Big Show
Rey had a small chance of winning this, but that quickly turned when Show caught him in the middle of a 619, held him with one arm, and connected with a big punch to his head. He then got the three count.
No Disqualification Match
WWE Champion Triple H vs. Randy Orton
Triple H tried to hit Orton with different weapons throughout the match, but it was always Orton hitting Triple H with them instead. That is until he hit a Spinebuster onto a trash can on Orton. After that he grabbed a chair and hit him repeatedly with it. Orton turned it back around and was about to punt kick Triple h in the head again, but he moved, and then clipped his knee. He then pulled hm to the mat and went outside the ring to wrap Orton’s leg around the steel ring post. Next he got the chair again and smashed his kneed between it and the ring post. Then back in the ring he continued to work on Orton’s knee, and then put on the Figure Four Leglock. Orton got to the ropes, but with no DQs Triple H had no reason to release the hold. Orton finally escaped it by pulling himself to the edge of the mat and falling to the floor. He pulled him back into the ring, and put his leg througha steel chair, but before he could do anything with it out came DiBiase and Rhodes. Shane mcMahon came out, but it was too much for him to overcome. Batista came out next and started to take control of things, but by then Shane was back up and in the ring. As Batista went to spear Rhodes he moved and Batista hit shane with it instead. Triple H jumped in asking why he had done that, and he explained it was an accident. then suddenly he pushed Triple H out of the way because DiBiase was about to hit him from behind. everyone was thrown from the ring except for Orton and Triple H. As he turned around Orton hit the RKO and got the three count.
A decent show, even if it did have only six matches, two of which were over rather quickly. A couple of pay-per view type matches for the fans over in London.

Raw 3 Hour Draft Special
Batista is the first out to the ring after we see that the announcers from all three brands are at ringside. The Animal looked extremely happy to be back inside a WWE ring. After conveying how happy he was he moved on to how he had been replaying the punt kick from Randy Orton over in his head for four months. He called Orton out and said he would hunt him down if he didn’t come out. Out came Shane McMahon to say he was the one that would be getting retribution tonight, then down came Triple H to say the same thing. Then suddenly the cackle of the new Raw General Manager Vickie Guererro interupted. she wanted to point out only she would decide who would be facing who on Raw. She made a rather unusual match. It would be Batista, Shane, and Triple H in a 3 on 2 match against Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. If Rhodes and DiBiase wins then no one face Orton until Backlash. However, if their team won whoever scored the pinfall or submission would have a match against Orton next week on Raw. This of course will only lead to the three of them fighting amongst one another to decide who gets the win and the match next week.
The good thing about the yearly draft is that you sometimes get to see some great matchups that you normally wouldn’t see.
This year is set to keep that tradition going. The first draft match is between Raw’s Rey Mysterio and ECW’s Evan Bourne. Going into this match I think it should be an amazing and exciting match. It was indeed a pretty good match, not quite as much as I expected, but good. Mysterio hit the 619, and a Splash from the top rope followed by the three count.
The Random Draft Pick for Raw – United States Champion M.V.P.
Before the next match the cameras showed Chief Jay Strongbow in the crowd. It was good to see him still showing an interest in wrestling after all these years. I used to like him when I was a kid.
Raw’s Kane vs. Smackdown’s The Brian Kendrick
Kendrick decided to start off the match with a punch to Kane’s face! Not a good idea. Kane chased him, Ezekiel got in the way and got a big boot. Kane caught Kendrick, and quickly had him pinned to earn Raw’s second draft pick of the night.
The Random Draft Pick for Raw – The Big Show
Maybe there is a tag team reunion in the works which would lead to them becoming the Unified Tag Team Champions.
To the back with Vickie and Chavo. In comes Randy Orton to complain about the match she made earlier. she adds the stipulation that if Rhodes and DiBiase win, whoever they defeat has to face Legacy next week 3-on-1.
Then we see John Cena and Jack Swagger talking in the back. Of course Cena gets the better of the exchange before their upcoming match with two draft picks on the line.
6-Diva Tag Team Match
Smackdown’s Natayla, Michelle McCool, and Diva’s Champion Maryse
vs.
Raw’s Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, and WWE Women’s Champion Melina
Michelle McCool and Mickie James started off the match. . . and also finished it. they were the only ones involved. Mickie came off the top rope and was met with a boot to the face by McCool who then got the pinfall.
The Random Draft Pick for Smackdown – WWE Women’s Champion Melina
Champion vs. Champion Match for 2 Draft Picks
Raw’s World Heavyweight Champion John Cena vs. ECW’s Champion Jack Swagger
As expected, John Cena won this match and got two more draft picks for Raw.
The First Random Draft Pick for Raw – Matt Hardy
The Second Random Draft Pick for Raw – WWE Champion Triple H
As Cena stood in the ring watching Triple H, Edge jumped him from behind.
In the back where Orton wants to know Rhodes and DiBiase’s plan for the match tonight.
Out next is Santino Marella. Man that unibrow is becoming annoying!
Raw’s Santino Marella vs. Smackdown’s The Great Khali
Before the match Beth Phoenix came out to point out that she talked with Vickie earlier and if Khali wins tonight then Santina will be a guest on Khali’s Kiss Cam next week. Khali won the match, not quite as quickly as he did on Friday, but still very fast.
The Random Draft Pick for Smackdown – C. M. Punk
Unfortunately The Miz and John Morrison won’t go away.
ECW’s The Miz vs. Raw’s Kofi Kingston
After a decent match (only because of Kingston), Morrison interfered and got The Miz disqualified. Kofi gets another pick for Raw.
The Random Draft Pick for Raw – The Miz
At this point I have to say, well you know Morrison just cost ECW the pick that split the team up. Seconds after I typed that they began to hug goodbye in the ring. then suddenly it seems the Miz realized it was Morrison’s fault too. He kicked him in the mid section, and then hit a Reality Check. The Miz left Morrison laying in the middle of the ring.
Yayayaya let the world rejoice! The Miz and John Morrison are no longer together! Granted they are both annoying without the other, but together their annoyingness multiplied to the power of 10! Plus, just how much airetime do you think The Miz is going to get on Raw?
Next up is the 15-Man Battle Royal for 2 Draft Picks
Raw’s Team – M.V.P., Shad & JTG (Crymetyme), Mike Knox, and The Big Show
ECW’s Team – Finlay, Tyson Kidd, Paul Burchill, Mark Henry, and Ricky Ortiz
Smackdown’s Team – Carlito, Primo, R. Truth, Chavo Guererro, and Edge
One has to wonder if Show has a different shirt on underneath his Raw shirt this year.
Here is the order of elimination: Ricky Ortiz, Paul Burchill, Mike Knox, Chavo Guererro, Shad Gaspar, Primo, R. Truth, Tyson Kidd, JTG, Carlito, M.V.P., Finlay
At this point it was down to Edge, Mark Henry, and The Big Show. Show and Henry eliminated the majority of the superstars to this point. Edge tried to get Henry to help him take out Show, but Henry would have no part of it. Show chokeslammed Edge who would remain down on the mat for quite some time. In the meantime Henry and Show battled. Show picked up Henry for a bodyslam, but could only place him over the top rope. the two battled a bit while Henry was on the ring apron. finally a headbutt followed by a big fist knocked henry to the floor and elimination.
Show then turned his attention back to Edge. Edge lured Show in, he charged, Edge grabbed top rope and pulled it down as he ducked out of the way. Show went right over the top rope and crashing to the floor. Edge won the draft Battle Royal for the second straight year.
The First Random Draft Pick for Smackdown – Kane (so much for my Show – Kane reunion. Although, this does feed into my previous Kane – Undertaker battles before Taker retires.)
The Second Random Draft Pick for Smackdown – Chris Jericho
ECW’s Christian vs. Smackdown’s Shelton Benjamin
Christian wound up getting the win after the “Killswitch”. Personally I preferred the “Unprettier”.
The Random Draft Pick for ECW – Vladimir Kozlov
Smackdown’s C.M. Punk vs. Raw’s Matt Hardy
Ahh, earlier when there was a double pick for Raw and Matt was the first one I thought for sure the second pick would be Jeff Hardy. Now it makes more sense – Matt Hardy will win the draft pick that brings Jeff to Raw, ironic, huh?
Oh, even better – out comes Jeff to tackle Matt. Matt Hardy wins via disqualification. now let’s see who Raw gets for the pick.
The Random <cough> Draft Pick for Raw – Maryse
Well that was a bit anti-climatic for me! It makes sense though – Champ Melina to Smackdown – Champ Maryse to Raw.
Smackdown’s Chris Jericho vs. ECW’s Tommy Dreamer
Jericho won the match.
The Random Draft Pick for Smackdown – Rey Mysterio
Now for all to be right with the world, all we need is for Jim Ross to be put back in his seat at the head of Raw. I doubt that will happen though, but you never know what might take place in the supplemental draft later in the week.
3-on-2 Handicap Match
Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase vs. Batista, Shane McMahon, & Triple H
After blocking one another from getting the win a few times – Shane and Batista were fighting. This left the door open for Triple H to hit the Pedigree and get the pinfall on Dibiase. Triple H will have a match with Randy Orton next Monday.
Another exciting draft show. It is always exciting, even if mostly predictable. the supplemental draft usually doesn’t hold any big moves, but this year it could I think.
One thing to look for – I am making the prediction right now that since Smackdown now has no championship belt C.M. Punk will cash in his Money in the Bank at Backlash. He will do it against the winner of the Last Man Standing match between John Cena and Edge. I mean what better time to cash it in. It would be a bit of poetic justice if Edge were to beat Cena, and then lose it to Punk because he can barely stand – similar to the situations when Edge cashed his briefcases in and won the title.

RAW Results and Wrap Up
The show started with Randy Orton coming out to complain and demand a title rematch. Once he started mentioning Vince McMahon’s grandchildren, McMahon came down to the ring. He told Orton he had a match at Backlash later this month. A six-man tag match with Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase against Triple H, Shane McMahon, and Vince. Orton then challenged him to a one on one match later in the night. Vince accepted.
Next up we got to see the rematch for the unified tag team titles that we didn’t get to see the first time at Wrestlemania. It too was a lumberjack match between the now defending champions Carlito and Primo Colon against John Morrison and The Miz. The Colons won the match after Carlito hit the Backstabber and pinned Morrison to retain the titles.
Smackdown vs. Raw Diva Tag Team Match
RAW Divas – Jillian Hall, Leyla, Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, and WWE Women’s Champion Melina
vs.
Smackdown Divas – Natalya, Maria, Eve Torres, Gail Kim, and Divas Champion Maryse
After a brawl broke out between the Divas on the floor Mickie James hit a DDT on Natalya and got the three count. The only people that actually got in the match were Melina & Mickie on the Raw side, and Gail Kim & Natalya on the Smackdown side.
Wrestlemania All-star Tag Team match
C.M. Punk, Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy, Ricky Steamboat, and John Cena
vs.
Matt Hardy, Kane, Chris Jericho, The Big Show, and Edge
After a pretty exciting match that let Steamboat show off his skills which seem to still be there Rey Mysterio got the pin on Jericho. It ended with Mysterio coming off the top rope with a Frog Splash onto the prone Jericho, and Steamboat simultaneously coming off the top rope with a flying splash onto a standing Edge. After a brief team celebration in the ring they left Steamboat alone for his own celebration.
Vickie Guererro came out to point out she had to choose between being GM of either Raw or Smackdown. She has chosen to remain the GM of RAW. She then went on to point out that Edge gets a title rematch against Cena at Backlash. Another stipulation she pointed out as the new GM of RAW is that the six-man tagmatch that Vince McMahon made eariler in the night for Backlash is now a title match. If anyone on Triple H’s team wins the match – Triple H retains the title. However if anyone on Randy Orton’s team wins – Orton becomes champion. After she went to the back someone must have pointed out she forgot one thing – the Cena – edge match will be a Last Man Standing Match.
Miss Wrestlemania Santina Marella came out to the ring and after a bit of bad comedy out came a very unhappy Beth Phoenix accompanied by Rosa. In the end she challenged Santina to a match, and he umm she accepted. Santina wound up winning the match and quickly exited the ring.
Randy Orton vs. Vince McMahon
Well, Orton dominated most of the match. when he was set to punt kick Vince’s head Shane came in and tackled him. Orton then began pounding on Shane and in came DiBiase and Rhodes. Soon after Triple H hit the ring, but Legacy kept teaming up three on one and controlling things. Then suddenly a familiar music began to play. It was Batista’s music! The Animal is BACK! He came out and cleared the ring, and then finished with a Batista Bomb on Rhodes. Vince then pointed out that taking his place at Backlash would be The Animal.
All in all for being a basic break after the big event it was a decent show. Nothing too special, other than the huge news that Batista is back. The road to Backlash later this month just got a whole lot more exciting.
