Do you know that if I had finished that line with “Rumble” that Michael Buffer’s representatives would have been standing at my door in 30 minutes or less with a bill for $1 million?

Anyway, what I was going to say was “Lets Get Ready To Blog!”

This is my new professional wrestling blog – The Wrestling Wrap Up . . . otherwise known as The WWU.

I previous had a wrestling blog, but due to the rules of the network it was on and the fact that it produced clicks on the ads within the site it got taken away from me for letting it sit about two days longer than their guidelines state. C’est la vie – I will build a bigger and better blog over here.

First a little background about myself and my relationship with professional wrestling. I am closing in on 40 (38 currently), and have been a wrestling fan for about three decades now. I first started watching back in 1978-79 and have been hooked ever since.

The first wrestling show I ever watched was an 11PM ET Saturday night WWF show on WWOR TV channel 9 out of Secaucus, New Jersey (the channel was from Secaucus, not me.) My first favorite wrestler from that very first night was Superfly Jimmy Snuka.

I would tune it every week that it was on. Soon after that we got cable television for the first time in my house. This allowed me to watch the WWF live from Madison Square Garden on the MSG network too. This was before the whole pay-per-view era of having a big event once a month that exists today. So the build-up for a young boy leading up to the next time they appeared at MSG was sometimes too much to take.

What finally cemented the Superfly in my memory as one of the best wrestlers ever was a match at MSG between him and the Magnificent Don Muraco in a steel cage. Many of you might remember this match, or have seen footage from this match thanks to all the DVD releases and the WWE 24/7 channel. What an incredible match! Snuka climbing to the top of the cage to do his legendary finishing dive – WOW!

Now with cable I also found TBS, and with it – WCW. Also a new found show on cable was WCCW. Now with a diversified view of multiple companies there was no turning back.

Since then I have been to a Wrestlemania (IV in Atlantic City, New Jersey). I have seen countless pay-per-view events – and I have built an undying love of Professional Wrestling.

Now I will be sharing that love with everyone. So check back here regularly on The WWU for the weekly show results, pay-per view results, news, and opinions on everything related to wrestling. That includes WWE, TNA, and maybe even some AWA stuff that reairs on ESPN late at night.

We will begin posting shortly – until then please admire our incredible banner at the top of the page which was created for us by Fandom Frosting’s

Meggie. After admiring it for a while go visit her site and see even more great banners.
